Regression Testing

Its done after the successful completion of functional & Re-testing.

Its process of verifying the code changes in 1 position of program should not give any -ve impact on other position of program.

Its done before the release .

Sanity Testing is like doing basic testing i.e Covering all the imp features in a limited time frame just to make sure that everything is working fine. It is better to automate the sanity test cases.

For instance, If the QA receive a new build every alternate day and its the early stage of the project, so to check the stability of the build, we can just run the sanity test for QA acceptance of the build.

And also in the later stage of the project, that is beta to GA time frame, we may receive build with minor changes, in that case sanity testing can be done to make sure that all the major features are working fine.
